What is the FR100 PrePreg?
The FR100 is a line of hybrid-phenolic resin dry- pre-impregnated textiles offering superior fire-performance, electrical insulation, Tg and an important shear strength, suitable uniquely for compression moulding processing.
The FR100 line is available both synthetic and natural fibres in either UD or woven format. Versions of the prepreg with a wet surface can be made available upon request, ideal to provide tackiness and approach manufacturing techniques exploiting the hand-lamination deposition.
The FR100 Dry PrePreg is highly suggested for semi-structural components, exposed to a great deal of heat or to fire situations : defence, ship-building, racing, aeronautics, public transports, offshore. More generally, the FR100 is also suitable for high volume manufacturing thanks to his innovative chemistry making it very rapid in hardening under heat and pressure and that makes post-cure un-necessary !
Why using the FR100 PrePreg?
To achieve an almost perfect balance between performance and processing !
The FR100 cures from 100ºC and you may achieve a short cycles in minutes with Tº up to 130-150º C.
We give to you a unique pre-impregnated textile which produces parts rapidly under heat and that, above all, eliminates the post-cure phase. At the same time, you gain an ILSS of 6.7 kg/mm2 with optimal resistance to ageing and a behaviour in electrical and fire resistance promising for success under the most stringent standard in the industry: railways, buses, aeronautics, defence and more.
The resin flow satisfies a well distributed wetting of the textile leaving the chance to wet a wide range of textiles , from more simple formats like a 200gsm glass to more complex ones such as a heavier 600gsm or even natural fibres up to 300gsm, typically harder to process .
The FR100 offers a service life at 20-25ºC beyond a 30days time, while Tº from -10ºC are already sufficient to preserve its properties for a 12months period.
BENEFITS:
> low VOC (<0.1%)
> superior bending strenght (ILSS ≈70MPa , glass 300gsm, 40% RC)
> superior antifire (HL3, 45545-2 EN)
> strong dielectric ( 30KV )
> quick curing cycle (8min @ 150ºC, under 50kg pressure)
> no postcure required
> high Tg (≈200ºC)
